Year 7 can be both an exciting and anxious time, however, generally students feel comfortable pretty quickly and can settle to focus on the important task of learning.

There are Core subjects of English, Maths, History/Geography (1 semester of each) Science, Physical Education and Information Technology. Languages is a selection of either Chinese or German. Year 7 also sees the beginning of experiencing different elective subjects – Art, Drama, Woodwork and Textiles.

To the transition as easy as possible to high school, Year 7 students stay in the same form group for all their classes.

We also offer an ASPIRE program for students looking to further extend their learning. ASPIRE can take either an English/Humanities focus or a Maths/Science angle. The opportunity to remain in the ASPIRE group runs through until VCE.

Year 7 students will quickly have the chance to absorb the Mooroolbark House spirit with the Swimming sports taking place early in Term 1. This is followed by the Athletics and Cross-Country early in Term 2. Likewise, an adventure camp to Forest Edge in Term 2 provides a great opportunity for students to get to further establish and enhance relationships with both their peers and teachers.
