Year 8 is a year that offers an opportunity for consolidation and personal growth. Students often start the year more confident about their place within the school environment.

Curriculum continues from Year 7, offering subjects such as Cultural Studies as an alternative to language classes, as well as other new subjects such as Music, Visual Communication & Design, Metalwork and Food Technology.

Some of the core subjects also provide new experiences with English and Physical Education run as both mixed and gender based classes.

The ASPIRE group continues to give students the opportunity to extend and challenge themselves in academic areas of specific interest.

The Year 8 The Summit Camp is another opportunity that allows students the chance make new friendships while experiencing activities such as: Rogaining, Canoeing, High Ropes, White Water Rafting, Horse Riding, Mountain Biking, Rock-climbing, Geocaching and Bushwalking.

At the end of the year Mooroolbark College Year 8 students are also offered the opportunity to apply for the Middle School Captain’s position in each of the respective houses.

Overall, a fantastic year filled with many great educational opportunities.
