Year 10 is the first year students enter the senior aspect of schooling at Mooroolbark College.

This year provides further streamlining of subjects, where student are given the opportunity to pick eight electives from either 38 year 10 subjects or six year 10 electives and one accelerate subject of either a year 11 unit or VET subject. This year students can really blossom and spread their wings into areas of their interest and choice as well as developing their pathway for the next three years of schooling. Students will study core subjects of English, Mathematics for the entire year as well as Physical Education, Work Related Skills and a Science subject for one semester. They must also choose one elective unit from two of the following three Key learning areas of Technology, Arts and Humanities. The remaining electives can be chosen from any of the Key Learning Areas.

Student also have the opportunity to go on the Year 10 Central Australia Camp, run early in the year to allow students to bond with a range of peers. Students discover some of the natural icons within Coober Pedy and Alice Springs as well as getting some hands on experience and knowledge of the local aboriginal communities.

Year 10 also has Work Experience where students get to experience working within the community, which is a great opportunity to see how the work force really is. Another highlight is the Year 10 Social run late in Term 3.

Regular student reports and parent/teacher interviews are conducted across the year to allow for constant feedback between the College and your family on how your son or daughter are faring.
