From the 22nd to the 26th May, Mooroolbark College hosted Education Week – Healthy Mind, Healthy Body. There were a number of events held throughout the week. Some healthy competitions ran, including a Year 9 Dodgeball game, Year 7 Basketball tournament and a staff vs Year 12 Volleyball match. There were relaxation sessions offered at Lunchtime – including meditation and colouring sessions. A Beyond Blue Guest Speaker spoke about her journey and a healthy cooking class was run. As usual, our lunchtime gym was open and there was an intense fitness circuit run at Fitness Club on Tuesday morning. The Year 12s and staff got involved in sharing their gratitude by filling up Gratitude walls.  Things that they were grateful for were friends, family, teachers, having food, having a home, coffee and students doing well in class, sunny days and helpful work colleagues. In Home Group students learnt about the benefits of gratitude and being kind, they watched short videos, shared what they were grateful for, filled in gratitude diaries and wrote short letters to a special person they were grateful for.
