Language Perfect Competition

The main focus of the year is always the global Language Perfect Competition, held in May for students in Years 7, 8 and 9. This year, unbelievably, we gained a record number of awards. Last year we were awarded 112 awards, this year it was a sensational 158 awards!
The top student in the College was again JACK HILL in Year 8, followed closely by DYLAN KNAPP in Year 9. After competing for 6 years, we finally had these two students who achieved the Elite Award. 10,000 points were required to get to this elusive level. Congratulations again to Jack and Dylan. This was a magnificent effort, boys!
This year we had ten recipients of Gold, the greatest number of Gold Awards ever. The names of those successful students in order were Shaun Donald-Wilson, Riley Price, Caitlyn Kavanagh, Joshua Kuszlaba, Alexander Newman, Lauren Triangolo, Josh McMeeken, Jaymie Cathie, Forum Patel and Jason Kennedy.
Silver Awards were won by four students. Thirty-four students won a Bronze Award and 108 students won a Credit Award. The competition was intense! Mooroolbark College can be very proud of coming 3rd in the world in the under 500 Language Students category. The awards will be sent to the school in Term 3 and the highest achievers will be awarded their certificates in assembly.
