Whilst it is officially celebrated the first week in July, the College is acknowledging NAIDOC Week during the last week of Term Two. This week is a time to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, culture and achievements and to recognise the contributions that indigenous Australians make to our country and society.

This year’s theme is: Our Languages Matter

In Home Group students will participate in an Indigenous Trivia Quiz, which will put their knowledge of Aboriginal culture and language to the test. At the General Assembly Daniel Miller and Tanikka Martin, Green House Captains, will speak to students and staff about the significance of NAIDOC Week. During lunchtime on both Tuesday and Thursday there will be a multi-media presentation in the Library showcasing the Who We Are: Brave New Clan short film which features six exceptional young Australians who share what Indigenous culture means to them today in contemporary urban Australia. The NAIDOC Week display in the Library will include an Indigenous Wall of Fame, the Synopsis of 25 Recommended Indigenous Films and an introduction to the local Aboriginal Woiwurrung language.
