Principal Report
Even though we are drawing to a close to Semester One, there is still a lot happening around the College.
WORK EXPERIENCE
On Monday 26th June, Year 10 students will commence their Work Experience block and I wish them all the best. This is an exciting experience for students who often have not experienced the work place. It provides an opportunity to experience specific careers and they find out what it’s like to work a 9 to 5 week and to extend themselves as young adults. I can promise, that by the end of the week, students will be ready for a rest.
YEAR 10 PATHWAYS DAY
The Year 10 Pathways Day was held on Tuesday 20th June. Thank you to Mr McCormick and to the entire Pathways Team for organising a wonderful day for the Year 10 students. Students were involved in a number of sessions across the day to focus their understanding of the various pathway options in preparation for course selection in Term 3.
YEAR 8 GERMAN CUCKOO RESTAURANT AND CHINA BAR EXCURSIONS –
THURSDAY 29TH JUNE
Our Year 8 students are waiting for the annual Languages cultural excursion, with anticipation. On Friday 30th June many of our students and staff will be enjoying lunch at either the Cuckoo Restaurant or the China Bar Restaurant. Food is a wonderful way of developing a greater understanding of different cultures.
REPORTS
Teachers are currently finishing the Mid Year Reports. These will be provided to parents/guardians and students via Compass on Monday 3rd July. In order to access these you will need your Compass log on. If you have forgotten your log on details, please contact the College on 9727 8100 before the end of term and we will be able to assist you.
PUPIL FREE DAY
A reminder that Monday 17th July is a Pupil Free Day. Students are not required at the College. Students are to return for the start of Term 3 on Tuesday 18th July.
YEAR 9 2018 INFORMATION NIGHT
Students will be required to make decisions about the courses they intend studying in 2018. The Year 9 2018 Information Night will be held on Thursday 20th July 2017. Information will be posted to current Year 8 parents/guardians next week.
