It has been a jam packed term of interschool sport! We had our Intermediate basketball teams head out to Dandenong Basketball stadium. It was fantastic to see over 50 students represent the College on the day. Both men’s and women’s A teams were very successful winning several games. Unfortunately, both teams came up short, missing out on progressing to regions by percentage. Mr Zarebski and Mr Keogh did a fantastic job organising the teams and planning training sessions leading up to the day. On the same day, the Intermediate table tennis team competed in the Division competition. Under the watchful eyes of Mr Loh the team put on a tremendous effort. Each team got plenty of wins and showed outstanding sportsmanship throughout.

Following the Intermediates, we have our Year 7 and 8 teams who will be competing in the Winter 2 round robin. Please keep an eye out on the newsfeed to check training times for basketball and badminton.

On Friday of week 5 we have our Year 8 girl’s badminton team competing at the Region finals at Pinks Reserve, Kilsyth. We wish them all the best and look forward to hearing their results.

The last big day on the Term 3 sports calendar is the Division athletics carnival. This will be held at Ringwood athletics track on Friday 8th September. Over the last 3 years the athletics teams is growing and we are looking forward to seeing plenty of students wear the brand new athletic singlets. There will be training sessions for each event leading up to the carnival. Dates and times will be displayed on the Compass newsfeed.

Finally, congratulations to Lateisha Willis who represented Australia at the Oceania Track and Field championships. This was the first time she wore the green and gold in a championship. Lateisha came 2nd in the U/18 100m hurdles. This is an amazing achievement and we wish her all the best in her upcoming summer season.
