Jordan Blair Green House Captain

What do you hope to achieve this year in your role?
This year as Green House Middle School Captain I am hoping to gain some leadership experiences that will help me develop attributes that I can take into the working world outside of school such as organisation, time management, problem solving and thinking creatively and coming up with ideas that are outside of the box. I will also like to improve on my public speaking, I find it a lot harder to talk in front of students that you see every day at school than to talk to people that you will never see again. In addition, I would like to be recognised within the school from both students and teachers as a friendly and easy approaching person that can help you.

Who is a leader that you admire and why do you admire them?
A leader that I admire is Steve Smith, the Captain of the Australian Cricket team. He makes sure that everyone in his team is playing at their best ability, pushing them to their limits while also dealing with any problems within the team. Making sure that he gets around to everyone in his team, caring for every single one of them and yet still hitting centuries himself out in the middle of the ground representing his country at the highest level. I just find it hard to believe that he can put every one of his teammates and coaches before himself and still be one of the best batsman in the world at the highest level of competition against the best players in the world. UNBELIEVABLE!!

What are some of my goals for the future?
A couple of goals I have set myself to achieve are to work and study hard this semester and achieve a high distinction award at the end of the year. Another goal is to get more interactive with the people in my home group that I don’t really know well and get to know them better.
