In early August, the culmination of all the rehearsals over five months came to a wonderful conclusion at the Mooroolbark Community Centre with the performances of this year’s College Production of ‘Bats’. Both the audience and the cast enjoyed a funny and memorable, musical parody of everything ‘horror’. There were Frankenstein monsters, angry peasants, Hunchback’s, werewolves, Dracula and spine chilling laughs!

We had a hardworking and talented cast and crew that spanned all year levels. It was great to see a high number of Year 7 & 8 performers in this year’s show. At the other end of the spectrum, we had five Year 12’s who performed in their final Mooroolbark performances. Their contribution, talent and example to their younger cast mates was incredible. We are going to miss them, and we hope, as we had this year; that they will come back and visit or even help out with the College’s next production.

Many staff contributed much time and energy in order for the production to happen. Our fantastic art department for their fine efforts in painting and producing our sets and Mrs Wood for her great costumes. Ms Van Bremen, Mrs Gibbs, Miss Mathieson and Mr Ford for producing all manner of things and Mrs Stratford and Ms. McIntosh for their support. Mr Standing, for assisting in just about everything! Miss Rosendale for her perfect choreography and Mr Van Keulen, Mrs Whitby and the Bats Band for their awesome playing.   And of course, to all of the audience who came to see the play and the parents of our extremely talented cast.
