Carnival Day

The SRC Carnival Day is an annual event run for students by students.

The SRC organise a range of activities over the course of an extended lunchtime with the aim of bringing students, staff and the local community closer together while raising money for the student body. Whether it’s the ever famous teacher bucket dump or the jumping castle which tickles your fancy, students and staff have been enjoying this day for the last 6 years.

Debutante Ball

Participation in a Debutante Ball is a once in a lifetime opportunity and a time which students will always cherish. The Debutante Ball gives students the chance to present to family and friends as mature individuals.

In Year 11 at Mooroolbark College, many students take the opportunity to be involved in this special occasion. After many hours of formal dance training, choosing flowers, dresses and suit styles, the students are always eager for the big night to arrive. The commitment and hard work of the students is rewarded with a spectacular and memorable night.

Dance training for the Debutante Ball is held on Monday afternoons during Term 2. The Ball is held at the end of the term. For interested students there is an information evening held each year in Term 4 and information booklets are given out on the evening.

Valedictory Dinner

The Valedictory Dinner is an annual event at which Mooroolbark College acknowledges the achievements of its Year 12 students.

This is an important occasion for our VCE and VCAL students. Every student is individually recognised for achievements at Mooroolbark College. The Caltex All Rounder award is presented along with subject awards.

It is also a memorable occasion at which parents, relatives and friends can share memories and celebrate with their student.

Year 10 Social

One of the biggest calendar events is the year 10 Social.

Conducted at the end of Term 3, the Year 10’s students along with a number of supervising staff get together to dance the night away, have numerous funny photos in the photo booth and generally have lots of fun. Often held at Chirnside Park Country Club this great opportunity allows students to get dressed up and have a fun night out with hundreds of their school friends.
