During home group this week all students have spent time reflecting on their semester one reports and setting goals for the remainder of the year.  Reflecting on semester one, allows students to write about the progress in their learning.  They can identify and reflect on successes and challenges.  Setting personal learning goals aims to improve students’ learning and achievement and build students’ capacity to learn. They enable students to become more active participants in the learning process, empowering them to become independent learners, and motivating them to achieve their full potential.
The week finished with a celebration of academic success.  At house assemblies, students received Mid Year Academic Awards from the categories of Credit, Distinction, High Distinction, Honours and Dux.  A lot of hard work  goes into achieving these awards.  It is those students who are committed and give their best effort and are consistent in their application in class who regularly achieve high results.  Congratulations to all students who received awards on Friday. The end of year Awards Night will be held on Thursday 15th December at Karralyka Theatre where Academic High Distinction, Honours and Dux Awards along with PTCA Encouragement Awards, subject specific and leadership awards will be handed out.
