At Mooroolbark College we pride ourselves on building strong relationships.  This occurs in many different ways at the College including in class, relationships made in Home Group, as part of our camps and tours program, during interschool sport and as part of the many clubs Mooroolbark College provides for students.

Music Club runs every Wednesday, straight afterschool.  In Music club students have the opportunity to explore music at their own pace, and have full access to the band rooms, studio and teachers to engage in self-directed learning. They also have the opportunity to join in on workshops that cover technology, theory, performance craft, song writing and production.

Weights Clubs is a great opportunity for students to work with staff in a supportive environment where the fitness and health is a priority.

Board Game operates after school on a Tuesday night supported by Mr Grey Noble.  The Board gaming and roleplaying club has students from different year levels coming together and playing a variety of different board games. We also have a group learning to play Dungeons and Dragons, a classic roleplaying game

Computer Club is open every lunchtime for students in E3 with Mrs Mc Gregor.  This club allows for the diverse interests of the students in the area of learning technology.  It is a collaborate environment where students learn to work with each other.

Sphero club is a chance for students to control a robot through a variety of different apps. Some days students are running though a racecourse while others sees students programming precision movement sequences.

Fitness Club runs on a Tuesday and Thursday morning in the ECA at 7.15 am.  It is wonderful to have both staff and students training together.  Whether it be circuit training, a cardio class, a boxing class or a strength class there is a great amount of energy coming from the ECA in the mornings.  Finishing the morning with breakfast.

Club 34 exists for students each Tuesday and Thursday afternoons between 3.00 pm and 4.00 pm in the library for students in Years 7 to 10 and in the Senior Study Centre for Years 11 and 12.  Both are staffed by teachers who are there to help students with homework and study.   It is an amazing experience to walk into both places and see sixty or seventy students working in small groups, individually or with teachers.  Come along and go into the nightly raffle and enjoy a biscuit and a drink.

If you like to draw, paint, design or create this is the place for you.  Our artistic team in The Arts area is open to students every Thursday at lunchtime.  This creates the opportunity for students with artistic abilities or interests to come together and experiment and learn new techniques in a support environment

Bat’s production rehearsals are ramping up with staff and student commitment at an all-time high.  I have already seen outstanding professionalism and talent being showcased as the students workshop their performances.  It is a fantastic show and we are all looking forward to seeing the final product in August.

I encourage students at Mooroolbark College to choose and be involved in as many activities within the school as we are very fortunate for students to have the opportunity to enjoy such a diverse range of opportunities.
